Yes, the Release Translations button works! It was never a joke! You thought it was an April Fools joke? Well, I double-fooled you, because we had multiple April releases! How can it be a joke when the button did exactly as it promised? That's right!

...I was ALMOST getting depressed that I might have ended up being a liar! Whew, what a relief, huh? 

Now it's May, and that means there are more books being released. Will any of these get translated, when current projects already exist? Well, if we take the amount of activity we had in the last few weeks, and replicate it over the next 2 years, projected graph says we'll finish like 6 KLN series in about that time! So, maybe we will see more translated series! Exciting!

New releases:

 

Title: 정염의 아이젠릿터 (The Fiery Eisen-Ritter) Author: Rava Artist: Ells http://www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=4543324 Publisher:Novel Engine Premise: In a slight twist to the idea of virtual reality games, there exists a reality-virtual game where any actions done in the game also happens in reality, however unrealistic it may be. The game gets popular enough that an entire school is built to to solely teach its students how to use the game world. The protagonist is a newcomer to this school, and he quickly gains everyone's attention through a false rumour that he's an extremely skilled gamer. He gets stalked by various students, including a girl who seems to be completely incapable of bringing the game's world into reality... Pre-Read Thoughts: Thinly disguised game-world-centric storyline that attempts to join the ranks of Overlord, Log Horizon, SAO, ...Supposedly, though, the editor feels that this book reads more like a fighting game cast. I don't know how to feel about that. Post-Read Thoughts: I'm just about done with Gary Stu characters in girls-only academies. Post-Read Low-Quality B&W Picture: Aggressive lolis.

 

Title: 세계 제일의 안티 미스터리 (The World's Greatest Anti-Mystery) Author: 모베 (Mauvais) Artist: 레니안 (Renian) http://www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=760140 Publisher: Novel Engine Premise: A superhumanly great detective, who manages to solve every case with a single look at the crime scene, wakes up in a room with a corpse in the corner and a bloody knife in his hands. For the first time, he is unable to figure out who the murderer is. The novel seeks to violate every rule that's supposedly a part of a good mystery novel, as described by Ronald Knox's 10 Commandments of Detective Fiction. Only one rule is left unviolated. Pre-Read Thoughts: And here I thought I'd be getting the first mystery KLN that isn't 'aimed at the older audience' (i.e. won't have cute pictures or personalities). But nope, it's an anti-mystery. Post-Read Thoughts: It's a mystery that can't be a mystery because every single element in the evidence is an ass pull... but intentionally. How do you categorize a mystery-like story where there exists an assassin who leaves no evidence, an artist who can create perfect replicas (even dead bodies), and a detective who can come up with the right answer without thinking about it? Title: 우리집 아기고양이 6 (Baby Cats At Our Home Vol. 6) Author: 가랑 (Garang) Artist: DS 마일 (DS Mile) http://www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=795196 Publisher: Novel Engine Premise: Neglected girl from the first volume decides that she needs to make herself memorable and likable, mostly by acting like she's the protagonist's girlfriend. Also, some shenanigans happen as the two kids start maturing. Pre-Read Thoughts: MC in the cover. That's something you don't see too often. Post-Read Thoughts: 300 pages of lovey-dovey scenes between the lonely, big-breasted, lolicon catgirl and the protagonist. Then it suddenly jumps into... Life-threatening situations? Coupled with NTR?! In my lighthearted slice-of-life LN?! Post-Read Low-Quality B&W Picture: Dense protagonists will never cease to be a thing.

 

Title: 위익의 프래그먼트 2 (The Fragment of the False Wings Vol. 2) Author: 블루시드 (BlueSeed) Artist: 조이뿅 (Joypyonn) http://joypyonn.net/ Publisher: Novel Engine Premise: After the Dummy incident in the first volume, the protagonist gets a chance to relax and meet new people, including the second most powerful Child of the school who appears to hate him for no reason. In the midst of these peaceful times, a dark force slowly, silently looms over the academy. Pre-Read Thoughts: The author promised to have the MC cross-dress one day. And he does it in volume two. That guy... Post-Read Thoughts: Same comments as the previous book. Not having a single page's worth of infodump is commendable, especially for a book full of new concepts about the setting. Plot is significantly more ambitious than before, since there's some mention of the world ending. Also, yuri. Post-Read Low-Quality B&W Image: A rare dose of antiloli.

 

Title: 소심한 복수 사무소 5 (Petty Revenge Office Vol. 5) Author: 류은가람 (Ryuungaram) Artist: Nardack http://www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=341433 Publisher: Seed Novel Premise: The MC and the Chief break up, and five years pass by. The once-uncaring MC has since decided to seek higher education after his mandatory military service, and somehow got into a good university after a great deal of effort. He meets new people, makes new friends, all the while waiting for the Chief to come back to him. Pre-Read Thoughts: 5 years later, and she's still a loli. ... Those scissors better not be for something violent! Post-Read Thoughts: Felt somewhat like the second volume of Shinonome Yuuko series, with completely new characters being the focus of a serious love triangle. Especially because Nardack also was the artist for that, maybe. The build-up was absolutely fantastic, so much that the ending ruined it by putting an end to it-- I actually would have preferred a bittersweet open end rather than everything being resolved in the last 5 pages. Post-Read Low-Quality B&W Image: Romance between university students?! When does that ever happen?

 

Title: 용사가 마왕을 무찌를 때 우리들도 있었다 2 (We Were There When the Hero Defeated the Demon Lord Vol. 2) Author: 맑은 날 오후(A Clear Afternoon) Artist: Tob http://www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=316471 Publisher: Seed Novel Premise: After defeating the 'demon lord', the hero from the previous volume had gone into obscurity. One day, she finds the protagonist again, who now happens to be the real demon lord's right-hand man (not a spoiler! it happens in the first chapter, anyway). The protagonist, the hero, and the demon lord all get friendly and such, until the protagonist's little sister decides to go into full yandere mode. Pre-Read Thoughts: Also known as D&D 5th Edition Player's Handbook. At least, that's probably how it's going to read, judging by the previous volume.

 

Title: PES 제왕고교 4 (PES Emperors' High School Vol. 4) Author: 이종원 (Lee Jong-wan) Artist: Cocoon http://www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=479260 Publisher: Seed Novel Premise (for the series): The nation sees skilled, talented people as important resources necessary for its survival. A school is built to accommodate each and every person who is the best at a particular subject or skill, like a globally recognized soccer player, the world's greatest hacker, or the nation's most famous singer. The MC finds himself in this school one day, and yet he has no memory of how hewas accepted in the first place. All he knows is that his memory is tied to a recently murdered student of the school,  who was also the greatest detective in the world. Pre-Read Thoughts: Danganronpa in Korea.

 

Title: 에이투지! 3 (A to Z! Vol. 3) Author: 서혜성 (Seo Haesong) Artist: SALT http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php?id=340139 Publisher: Extreme Novel Premise: Imouto count rises to two (MULTIPLE little sisters as main characters? Now that's just greedy!). The MC's father, who was the source of all of his troubles since the first volume, is apparently on the chase to bring the second little sister back. To get away from him, the MC decides that this volume must be an onsen episode where he gets to ogle his loli girlfriend, two loli sisters, and two girls who apparently aren't noteworthy because they're not lolis. Pre-Read Thoughts: Loli.

 

Title: 신이 사라진 세계의 제멋대로 마왕님! 3 (The Unruly Demon Lord in a World Without God Vol. 3) Author: MOS Artist: 해인 http://www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=4680914 Publisher: Extreme Novel Premise (for the series): A powerful demon lord is sealed by his underlings who predicted that the world would end, moments before the angels could begin their attack. After a long time in his slumber, he awakes in a world where angels and demons coexist and capitalism prevails; the ability to make money is the only measure of one's strength. The demon lord decides to try and adapt for now, beginning his first job as a lowly demon who does services for humans in exchange for their souls. Pre-Read Thoughts: Capitalism, ho!
